Motorists are advised to expect traffic disruptions in Binondo and nearby areas as the city implements road closures and rerouting schemes for the Chinese New Year 2026 celebration on Feb. 16.
Authorities said closures will begin as early as 3 a.m. and will continue throughout the evening depending on the scheduled activities.
Road Closures (February 16, 2026)
3 a.m. – Binondo–Intramuros Bridge
7 p.m. – Southbound lane of Jones Bridge
9 p.m. – Northbound lane of Jones Bridge
10 p.m. – Plaza Lorenzo Ruiz U-turn access (Juan Luna to Quintin Paredes)
Ongpin Street (Juan Luna to Quintin Paredes)
Quintin Paredes Street (Dasmariñas to Escolta)
Juan Luna Street (Dasmariñas to Muelle de la Industria)
Plaza Cervantes
Re-routing Scheme
Vehicles from Juan Luna Street heading to the southbound lane of Jones Bridge must turn right to Dasmariñas Street, left to Muelle de Binondo, left to Muelle de la Industria, then proceed to Muelle Banco Nacional toward Plaza Sta. Cruz.
Vehicles from P. Burgos Avenue (northbound) intending to use Jones Bridge should proceed to MacArthur Bridge or Quezon Bridge.
Vehicles from Riverside Drive intending to use the northbound lane of Binondo–Intramuros Bridge must proceed to A. Soriano Avenue and continue to Anda Circle.
Vehicles from Muelle de la Industria intending to use the southbound lane of Binondo–Intramuros Bridge should proceed to Muelle Banco Nacional toward Plaza Sta. Cruz.
Vehicles from San Fernando Street heading to Plaza Cervantes and the southbound lane of Jones Bridge must turn right to Dasmariñas Street, left to Muelle de Binondo, left to Muelle de la Industria, then proceed to Muelle Banco Nacional toward Plaza Sta. Cruz.
February 17 Parade Route
For the scheduled procession on February 17, 2026 (3 p.m. onwards) from the Manila Central Post Office to Lucky Chinatown Mall, the route will pass through Jones Bridge, Escolta Street, Plaza Sta. Cruz, Dasmariñas Street, Quintin Paredes Street, Ongpin Street, Sabino Padilla Street, Soler Street, and Reina Regente Street before proceeding to Lucky Chinatown Mall.
Authorities advise motorists to plan their trips ahead and expect heavy traffic in the Binondo district during the celebration.
