Philippine pastry team launches fundraising drive ahead of Asian Pastry Cup 2026
Macarons and truffles crafted by the country's representatives offer a taste of competition-level pastry while supporting their journey to the international stage
The Philippine Pastry Team is inviting the public to support its road to the Asian Pastry Cup 2026 through a fundraising initiative that highlights the craft and creativity behind competition-level pastry work. The effort allows supporters to purchase limited collections of pastries made by the chefs preparing to represent the country abroad, with proceeds helping fund training and competition expenses.
Led by the Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie – Team Philippines National Organizing Committee, the campaign reflects the growing ambition to elevate Filipino pastry talent on the global stage. The team’s participation in regional competitions serves as a stepping stone toward qualification for the Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie, one of the most prestigious pastry competitions in the world.
Representing the Philippines are team coach Chef Vergel Iral, chocolate candidate Chef Janelle Toh, and sugar candidate Chef Gian Aguirre, chefs selected through a national process designed to assemble a strong lineup for international competition. The fundraiser offers a glimpse into their approach, combining technical precision with flavors that reflect both modern pastry trends and local influences.
The French macaron degustation set features six flavor profiles inspired by contemporary competition presentations. Fruity notes sit alongside more layered combinations, balancing sweetness with acidity, herbal accents and toasted elements. Each box is assembled to showcase consistency and refinement, qualities that judges look for on the competition stage.
A separate truffle collection highlights ingredients familiar to Filipino palates while presenting them through polished confectionery techniques. Flavors such as mango cashew, coconut passion and barako coffee emphasize local character while maintaining the sophistication expected of international pastry work.
Beyond fundraising, the initiative underscores the collaborative effort required to prepare for high-level competitions. Training involves months of recipe development, repeated practice and fine-tuning presentations that must communicate both artistry and national identity within strict competition guidelines.
The effort also offers supporters a chance to engage with a broader story of Filipino culinary ambition. Each pastry box serves not just as a dessert selection but as a small contribution to the team’s preparation, helping bridge the gap between local craftsmanship and international recognition.
Orders for the fundraising collections may be placed through the team’s official Instagram account, cmpatisserie_Philippines, or through their designated order form here. For media inquiries and additional information, interested parties may contact Team Manager and Liaison Dana Lacsamana at [email protected].
As preparations intensify for the Asian Pastry Cup, the team hopes supporters will take part by purchasing the collections and helping bring Filipino pastry talent onto the international stage.
