BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya – The suspect in the murder of a teenage girl in Quezon, this province, has surrendered to the police.
Police identified the suspect as 33-year-old tricycle driver Ernie who turned himself in on Friday morning, Feb. 13.
Police Col. Paul T. Bometivo, Nueva Vizcaya police chief, said extensive surveillance camera backtracking, intelligence work, and follow-up operations resulted in the identification and surrender of the suspect.
Recovered from the suspect were a black Mitsubishi Adventure with license plates XCL-798 used as getaway vehicle and pieces of evidence.
Police said the victim’s charred body was found by a couple walking their dog on Thursday, Feb. 12.
Follow-up investigation is ongoing.
