Mamamayang Liberal (ML) Party-list Rep. Leila de Lima says the world just became smaller for the eight individuals named by International Criminal Court (ICC) as alleged co-perpetrators of former president Rodrigo Duterte in connection with his bloody war on drugs.
"In laying down the charges against Duterte, the ICC Prosecutor also just made the world smaller for his co-perpetrators by naming them," De Lima said in an X post.
Named by The Hague-based ICC in a new filing dated Feb. 13, 2026 were:
• Former Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa
• Former National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) regional director Vicente Danao
• Former NCRPO regional director Camilo Cascolan (deceased)
• Former PNP chief Oscar Albayalde
• Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go
• Former National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) director Dante Gierran
• Former Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency chief Isidro Lapeña
• Former Department of Justice (DOJ) secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II
De Lima, Liberal Party (LP) chairperson, described the development in a separate post as "Great news!" and used the hashtag #JusticeIsComing .
"Time and again, we warned this people, even from prison, that this day will come. Like Duterte, they did not listen. Mayayabang pa sila (Instead they were boastful)," she said.
"Many of them will now go into hiding, joining Bato on the lam. No matter, Justice will always catch up with them. Justice will be served," reckoned De Lima.
"Panahon na ng pagpapanagot sa pagpatay sa mga kapwa Pilipino! Oras na ng pagbabayad sa mga krimen laban sa sangkatauhan! (It is time to hold accountable those responsible for killing fellow Filipinos! It is time to pay for crimes against humanity!)" the former senator added.
Duterte, who served as Philippine president from 2016 to 2022, has been held in detention by the ICC since March 2025.
De Lima is a deputy minority leader in the House of Representatives.
