Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go, on Saturday, Feb. 14 rejected allegations that linked him to the crimes outlined in the International Criminal Court’s recent Document Containing the Charges (DCC), wherein his name was listed among several individuals tagged as alleged co‑perpetrators in the case involving former president Rodrigo Duterte’s bloody war on drugs.

In a statement issued shortly after the ICC released a less redacted version of the charges, Go described the accusations as “entirely unfounded, one‑sided, unfair".
He says the allegations bear no relation to the reality of his roles and responsibilities during his service as Special Assistant to the President (SAP) from June 2016 to October 2018, as well as executive assistant to the mayor of Davao City from 1998 to 2016.
Go also sought to clarify his official duties, and stressed that he never served as chief of the Presidential Management Staff (PMS).
"It is also inaccurate to claim that I was Chief of the Presidential Management Staff then since at no point in time did that responsibility fall under mine," he said.
Go added that throughout his career, he has upheld the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and dedication to the welfare of the people.
The senator reaffirmed his commitment to his legislative duties, and stated that he will not allow these “baseless accusations” to distract him from his responsibilities as a duly-elected member of the Senate.
The ICC’s prosecution document also named fellow Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa and several former police and government officials as part of the alleged common plan connected to Duterte's anti‑drug campaign.
