Love is definitely in the air as the San Juan City Government launched multiple events to celebrate love for family, pets, and community on Friday, Feb. 13, as part of its Valentine's Day celebrations.
San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora first led the opening of the Makabagong San Juan Furry Valentines 2026 where free pet clinic services, including limited-slot vaccinations and screenings, microchipping, anti-rabies vaccination, deworming, vitamins, and spay and neuter programs for 300 pets were offered.
A special “FurEver Love” Oldest Pet in the City Contest was also held honoring long-term companionship between fur parents and their pets.
It was followed by a mass wedding officiated by Zamora dubbed "Kasalang Panlungsod 2026," where 56 couples exchanged vows at the Makabagong San Juan National Government Center.
The mayor said each couple received a cash gift from the city government and a wedding reception as they begin their married life together.
He added the annual ceremony, which offers free civil weddings to residents, aims to help couples formalize their unions and gain legal recognition for their families.
