Honda Cars is starting 2026 with two special teats for car buyers: a new City and a new CR-V. Both vehicles were unveiled at the Glorietta Palm Drive Activity Center last weekend.

The arrival of the new City is timely as Honda Cars is celebrating the 30 years since the City first arrived in the Philippines.
The City was first introduced in 1996 as an exclusive model for the Asian region and has since become one of HCPI’s best-selling models over the years, selling over 150,000 units. It has spanned five generations, with facelifts and special editions in between. Over the years, the City has also won various awards for its safety and design. The story of the City continued to evolve in 2021 with the launch of the Honda City Hatchback to expand the City model line-up.

For 2026, the City celebrates this milestone with a special 30th Anniversary Pearl Edition variant. This model is available as both a hatchback and sedan. The 30th Anniversary Pearl Edition City sedan is based on the City 1.5 S CVT Honda SENSING variant. It gets additional black accents on the door mirror, outer handles, front grille, and black alloy wheels.

The 30th Anniversary Pearl Edition City Hatchback gets additions like a black Honda badge and City emblem, front under spoiler, front center garnish, front fog garnish, tailgate spoiler garnish, extended rear bumper, exhaust pipe finisher, and rear under spoiler.
Both the City and City Hatchback 30th Anniversary Pearl Edition variants come in Platinum White Pearl only. They also sport an exclusive 30th Anniversary Pearl Edition emblem.
Both variants are powered by the efficient 1.5-liter inline four-cylinder DOHC i-VTEC engine, and fitted with the Honda SENSING safety suite.
The City sedan 1.5 S CVT Honda SENSING 30th Anniversary Pearl Edition is priced at P1,039,000, while the City Hatchback 1.5 RS CVT 30th Anniversary Pearl Edition is priced at P1,279,000.
To celebrate the launch of these special variants, HCPI is treating customers to ‘Smart Start Deals’, making the City and City Hatchback available with more flexible payment options. This is in partnership with BPI, RCBC, and Security Bank.
New CR-V
The second vehicle unveiled was the latest iteration of the CR-V. Known as a comfortable and versatile family car, the new CR-V can now meet even more expectations with three new variants to better cater to customers’ needs. The new Honda CR-V is now available in two e:HEV full hybrid options alongside a refined VTEC Turbo variant.
Honda CR-V 2.0 RS e:HEV AWD
Honda CR-V 2.0 RS e:HEV AWD
The top-of-the-line CR-V 2.0 RS e:HEV AWD E-CVT is offered as a premium sporty hybrid. It is perfect for daily city driving, business errands and also weekend getaways. It gets advanced Real-Time All-Wheel Drive (AWD) capability, engineered to deliver more dynamic performance, providing absolute traction by seamlessly managing power across various road conditions.
This upgrade expands the CR-V’s versatility, making it not only at home in the city, but also capable of venturing further, perhaps even camping on unpaved roads.
Exclusive equipment includes piano black accents on the exterior for a sportier and more edgy look. Inside, it gets red stitching on its upholstery with RS branding.
The next variant is the CR-V 2.0 VX e:HEV E-CVT. This hybrid still offers many of the CR-V’s premium amenities, convenience features, and safety package, making it perfect for family affairs, official business, or out of town drives. Design-wise, it gets a piano black tailgate spoiler garnish, door mirrors, and alloy wheels, topped off with new rear fog lights.
Like the RS, it gets a Head-Up Display (HUD), which projects speeds and navigation directions onto the windshield. Both the RS and VX variants also get an Individual Driving Mode, allowing for a personalized connection between the car and the driver.
Both hybrid variants use the 2.0-liter direct injection Atkinson-cycle engine mated to a powerful dual-motor configuration. While the engine produces 148-PS and 183-Nm of torque, the electric motors deliver an additional 184-PS and 335-Nm of torque. They activate automatically as needed, leaving the driver with little to worry about, other than the drive. Honda says both variants are capable of achieving 29.4km/L (VX) and 21.3km/L (RS), based on UNR-101 test results. To support the transition to electrification, both the RS and VX e:HEV variants come with a specialized battery warranty of eight years or 160,000km, whichever comes first.
Honda CR-V HuNT

The final variant is the CR-V 1.5 V Turbo HuNT CVT. This sole petrol variant benefits from rapid acceleration thanks to its VTEC Turbo engine. It is also the only CR-V variant with a third row that can comfortably sit seven passengers in total. It gets a unique “HuNT” emblem (exclusive to the Philippine market), glossy copper accents on the front grille and fog lights, black wheel arch garnish, silver front garnish, and running board.

All versions of the CR-V get vital safety systems like Blind Spot Information and a Cross Traffic Monitor. They also get the Honda SENSING safety suite with features like the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS).
Their in-car entertainment systems also come with Google Built-in, which offers hands-free voice control. There’s also Honda CONNECT that lets drivers link to their vehicle via a mobile app to display vital statistics or even find their car when outside of it.
