The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said it would sustain monthly job fairs this year after more than 2,400 applicants secured on-the-spot hirings in January.
The hires came from 47 job fairs held across the country and the agency said it wants to further expand employment opportunities for Filipinos.
The National Capital Region (NCR) led the hiring with more than 1,160 workers hired from 10 events, based on data from the Bureau of Local Employment (BLE).
Ilocos (Region 1) followed with more than 300 hires from eight separate job fairs while Western Visayas (Region 6) and Zamboanga Peninsula (Region 9) each posted over 180 hires.
Central Visayas (Region 7) recorded 163 hires during its first job fair of 2026 in Cebu. On the other hand, Central Luzon (Region 3) registered 106 hires from five events.
BLE Director Patrick P. Patriwirawan Jr. said the total number of hires is expected to increase as more reports from other regions are still being collected and validated.
