Charred body of woman found in Nueva Vizcaya

QUEZON, Nueva Vizcaya – The charred body of a woman was discovered in Purok 5, Dayug, Barangay Maddiangat, this town, on Thursday morning, Feb. 12.
Investigation said the body was found by a couple walking their dogs.
The couple informed barangay officials who reported the incident to the police. Lawmen are working to identify the victim.
Meanwhile, a 40-year-old former mechanic was gunned down in Barangay Sotero Nuesa, Roxas, Isabela on Wednesday.
Police identified the victim as Joven Arreola.
Police Capt. Leonard Mamerga, deputy chief of the Roxas Police Station, said the victim was sitting on the national highway when he was shot by unidentified gunmen.
The suspects fled and police recovered spent bullet casings and two bullets at the crime scene.
Follow-up investigation is ongoing.
