CEU honors excellence of employees at the 23rd Quality Awards

Centro Escolar University (CEU) once again underscored its unwavering commitment to quality and excellence as it held the 23rd Quality Awards, themed “Quality: Think Differently.” The annual celebration brought together administrators, faculty members, and non-teaching personnel in recognition of the collective dedication that continues to uphold and elevate the University’s standards.
The Quality Awards serve as a tribute to employees and teams whose initiatives and work ethic inspire excellence across the CEU community. Among the honorees were the recipients of the Best IQA Sub-Team Award, Ron Richard S. Callera and Melody S. Guno of Team D. Recognized as CEU STARS Finalists were Ivan Perry B. Mercado, Ryan I. Ricasata, and Sharlotte B. Torio.
CEU also acknowledged individual commitment and discipline through the Attendance and Punctuality Award, conferred on Domingo B. Dela Cruz. Meanwhile, several offices and departments were named as Model Work and Student Areas across CEU campuses. In the Manila Campus, the Office of the University Registrar (Large Category), School of Pharmacy (Medium Category), Health Services Department (Small Category), and the School of Nutrition and Hospitality Management (Student Council Areas) emerged as winners. For the Makati Campus, the Office of the Registrar (Large Category) and the Department of Dentistry (Small Category) received recognition, while the Cash Department (Large Category) and Optometry Department (Small Category) were awarded in the Malolos Campus.
The highlight of the ceremony was the recognition of the year’s top awardees. The Research of the Year Award was bestowed upon the School of Nursing represented by Dr. Ceryl G. Sagun, Anjanette S. De Leon, Dr. Josephine M. De Leon, and Dr. Elvira L. Urgel, for their study titled “Individuals’ Positive Gains from the COVID-19 Pandemic: A Qualitative Study Across 30 Countries.” Raymond Peralta of the School of Medical Technology was named Teacher of the Year, while Setiel Marie R. Amores and Mary Eujene P. Malonzo were honored as Non-Teaching Employees of the Year in the Supervisory and Non-Supervisory categories, respectively.
Leading the successful staging of the event were Dr. Maria Donnabelle U. Dean as overall chair and Dr. Ma. Eleanor C. Espinas as overall co-chair, with the guidance of Dr. Erna V. Yabut, vice president for Research, Innovation and Institutional Development; Dr. Ma. Flordeliza L. Anastacio, vice president for CEU Malolos; Dr. Pearly P. Lim, vice president for CEU Makati; Dr. Bella Marie L. Fabian, assistant vice president for Administration; and Dr. Avelina R. Raqueño, assistant to the vice president for MIS, as consultants, together with the dedicated search and working committees.
