BLACKPINK's 'Kill This Love' reaches 1 billion streams on Spotify
K-pop girl group BLACKPINK’s 2019 song “Kill This Love” has reached one billion streams on Spotify.
Spotify announced the 36 new members of its Billions Club for January, or songs have reached one billion streams on the music platform.
These include “Kill This Love,” “Try” by Pink, “Pump It” by Black Eyed Peas, “Born to Die” by Lana Del Ray, “Shower” by Becky G, “From The Start” by Laufey, “Lovely Day” by Bill Withers, “I Like You (A Happier Song)” by Post Malone and Doja Cat, “Moral of the Story” by Ashe, “Feel This Moment” by Pitbull and Christina Aguilera, “Ribs” by Lorde, “Confident” by Justin Bieber and Chance The Rapper, and “Hate Me” by Ellie Goulding and Juice Wrld.
“Kill This Love” is the title track of BLACKPINK’s album of the same name released in April 2019.
The music video for “Kill This Love” has garnered 2.1 billion views on YouTube.
BLACKPINK will release their new album “Deadline” on Feb. 27.
Meanwhile, Spotify has launched “Match Made in Spotify,” a new in-app experience that lets users test their compatibility with a crush or partner, based on the music they actually listen to on Spotify.
Each result comes with a personalized playlist created for the pairing, making it easy to share results and playlists with friends or on social media – making music part of how love stories are told this Valentine’s season.
