LAUREL, Batangas – Three guests were robbed of more than P30 million in cash and valuables in an events place here on Thursday, Feb. 12.
Police identified the victims as Portia, Rolando, and Minerva.
A review of surveillance footage showed the suspect breaking into the room of Portia and Rolando who lost cash and pieces of jewelry valued at more than P30 million.
He then forcibly opened the room of Minerva who was robbed of a ring and bracelet.
The suspect clad in a gray T-shirt, eyeglasses, a white green cap, maong pants, medium build, aged 45 to 50, and about 5'6" in height fled onboard a black Toyota Innova
Police are conducting follow-up operation.
Meanwhile, a man who stole a motorcycle was killed in a gun battle with lawmen in Barangay Mayao Parada, Lucena City, Quezon on Thursday night.
Police Col. Romulo Albacea, Quezon police director, identified the suspect as Wilvin.
The suspect was spotted with the tricycle and police launched a follow-operation.
Police cornered Wilvin but he decided to engage, prompting lawmen to return fire and kill the suspect.
The suspect was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead. Wilvin had an outstanding warrant for arrest for theft.
Wilvin's cohort John was earlier arrested.
A man was shot dead by two unidentified gunmen in his rented room in Barangay Soro-Soro, Batangas City on Thursday night.
The victim died on the spot. The suspects fled on foot.
