A total of 247 couples from District 2 got married in a mass wedding ceremony during the "Kasalang Bayan 2026", on Thursday, Feb. 12.
Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte officiated the ceremony and formally united the couples in marriage.
In her message, the mayor urged the newlyweds to continue strengthening their bond through life’s challenges and successes.
Mayor Belmonte underscored the city government’s commitment to making marriage accessible to all couples, especially those who may struggle with wedding expenses.
For some, getting married is not a priority because of the cost... that's why here in QC, our local government has responded with a beautiful and free town wedding)," she said.
We aim to give every couple an unforgettable moment because that is what every couple deserves.)," she added.
