Security guard nabbed for convenience store robbery in Bulacan

A security guard was arrested after allegedly shoplifting at a convenience store in Barangay San Jose Patag, Santa Maria, Bulacan on Wednesday night, Feb. 11.
According to the police report, the robbery incident occurred at around 7:28 p.m. in the said village.
The suspect is described as a man wearing a black jacket, white top, and black shorts.
The victim was identified as a 28-year-old woman, the store's cashier.
After receiving the information, the police immediately conducted a hot pursuit and a follow-up operation with intelligence operatives, resulting in the arrest of the suspect.
During the operation, a bag containing a caliber .38 gun and four bullets was recovered from the suspect.
Upon further investigation, the suspect was found to be a 37-year-old security guard of Brgy. Bulac, Santa Maria, Bulacan.
Charges of robbery and violation of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) are being prepared against the suspect for filing with the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor in the City of Malolos.
Col. Angel L. Garcillano, Bulacan police director, praised the quick action of the Santa Maria police station, which resulted in the immediate arrest of the suspect and the recovery of the illegal firearm, as part of the ongoing campaign against criminality and illegal weapons in the province of Bulacan.
