Police arrested a 43-year-old man for alleged violations of the anti-drug law, anti-carnapping law, and firearms regulation law in Pasay City on Feb. 11.

Pasay City Police Chief Col. Joselito De Sesto identified the suspect as Joven, a resident of Kamagong Street, Barangay 145, Pasay City. He was arrested at around 2:45 p.m. along Antipolo Street, Barangay 11.
De Sesto said a carnapping victim, Joevhanny, 30, of Villa Barbarra, Tramo Street, Barangay 45, Pasay City, filed a complaint at Substation 1 after his white Honda PCX motorcycle was stolen while parked in front of his residence on Feb. 10.
A follow-up operation was immediately conducted by Substation 1 personnel, who tracked down the suspect allegedly hiding in a house along Antipolo Street.
Police said residents had also complained about an armed man roaming around the area.
Upon the arrival of police operatives, the suspect allegedly ran and climbed into the ceiling of the house in an attempt to evade arrest.
After about an hour of negotiation, the suspect voluntarily surrendered. An airsoft gun was recovered from his possession.
Police also recovered from the suspect 17.03 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P115,600, as well as the stolen motorcycle.
The suspect is currently detained at the Pasay City Police custodial facility.
Charges for violation of RA 10883 (New Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016) and RA 10591 (Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition) were referred to the Investigation and Detective Management Section (IDMS) for investigation, while the case for violation of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) was referred to the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) for proper disposition.
