K-pop boy band ZEROBASEONE to continue as a five-member group

K-pop boy band ZEROBASEONE will not be disbanding and will continue as a group with five members. 

ZEROBASEONE debuted in July 2023 with nine members: Sung Han-bin, Seok Matthew, Kim Ji-woong, Zhang Hao, Kim Tae-rae, Ricky, Kim Gyu-vin, Park Gun-wook, and Han Yu-jin.

They were formed through the audition show “Boys Planet” and as a project group, their contract period is for two years and six months. Their activities were extended until March. 

On Feb. 12, Korean agency Wake One announced that ZEROBASEONE will continue as a group with members Sung Han-bin, Kim Ji-woong, Seok Matthew, Kim Tae-rae and Park Gun-wook. 

The four other members, Zhang Hao, Ricky, Kim Gyu-vin, Han Yu-jin, will depart from the group.

“Over the years, the brilliant journey that the nine members have written together under one name was only possible because of the heartfelt support of the fans. With those precious memories and achievements, ZEROBASEONE is now ready to begin a new chapter. 

“Based on strong trust, members SUNG HAN BIN, KIM JI WOONG, SEOK MATTHEW, KIM TAE RAE, and PARK GUN WOOK have decided to embark on a new season together as ZEROBASEONE. 

“This decision was reached through sincere and in-depth discussions between our artists SEOK MATTHEW, KIM TAE RAE, and PARK GUN WOOK, along with SUNG HAN BIN, KIM JI WOONG, and their respective agencies, with all parties coming together in mutual understanding and agreement. 

“Our company will provide our fullest support to ensure the activities as a five-member group are carried out in a stable manner, while continuing to maintain close communication for the members to grow together as companions on this journey. 

“With the conclusion of their project period, members ZHANG HAO, RICKY, KIM GYU VIN, and HAN YU JIN will be moving forward to new beginnings. 

“Our company wishes for their bright future and kindly asks that you continue to send your constant love and encouragement to the members as they begin their new paths. 

“The musical legacy that the nine members have built together under the name of ZEROBASEONE will not remain confined to a single chapter in time. It will continue to grow and expand in diverse forms and possibilities, sustaining its vitality. 

“Although the form of activities may change, we promise the values and identity we have shared together will remain constant. 

“As previously announced, the '2026 ZEROBASEONE WORLD TOUR [HERE & NOW] ENCORE' concert will feature all nine members performing together on stage to meet the fans.

YH Entertainment, the agency of Zhang Hao, Ricky, Kim Gyu-vin, Han Yu-jin, said they will aim “to thoughtfully shape their next steps.”
