Sixteen new lawyers from the University of Caloocan City (UCC) were honored by the Caloocan City government after passing the 2025 Bar Examinations.
Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan awarded a total of P1 million in cash incentives to the 16 passers during a testimonial ceremony held on Wednesday, Feb. 11 at the Bulwagang Katipunan, Caloocan City Hall-South.
According to the city’s Public Information Office, UCC posted a 72.73 percent passing rate in the 2025 Bar Examinations, surpassing the national passing rate of 48.98 percent.
Malapitan congratulated the new lawyers for bringing pride and honor to the city, recognizing their hard work and perseverance in hurdling the exams.
“Congratulations po, at maraming salamat sa karangalan na ibinigay ninyo sa ating lungsod. Kayong lahat ay patunay ng sipag, talino, at determinasyon ng Batang Kankaloo (Congratulations, and thank you for the honor you have brought to our city. All of you are proof of the hard work, intelligence, and determination of Batang Kankaloo),” he said.
He also encouraged them to use their legal knowledge in defending the rights of citizens and to serve with integrity and compassion.
“Ngayong ganap na kayong mga attorney, nawa'y dalhin ninyo ang mga natutunan ninyo sa UCC sa pakikipaglaban para sa karapatan ng ating mga mamamayan. Maglingkod nang buong husay, may integridad, at higit sa lahat, may malasakit sa inyong kapwa (Now that you are full-fledged attorneys, may you carry what you learned at UCC in fighting for the rights of our people. Serve with excellence, integrity, and above all, compassion for others),” Malapitan said.
The local government said the incentive reflects its continued support for academic excellence and its commitment to investing in future professionals from Caloocan.
