The recognized dominant political party in the country, the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD) remains committed to working with House Speaker Faustino "Bojie" Dy III for the passage of the Marcos administration's priority measures in its final two years.
This was the gist of Lakas-CMD President Leyte 1st district Rep. Martin Romualdez's message Tuesday, Feb. 11 during a meeting with party members.
“As legislators, our foremost responsibility is to pass laws that directly improve the lives of our people,” said Romualdez, a former two--time House Speaker said.
“Lakas-CMD is fully committed to supporting the President’s legislative priorities and to working constructively with Speaker Bojie Dy and all party leaders in the House," he underscored.

“With limited time and a heavy workload, what matters most is that we stay focused on legislation that delivers real, tangible benefits to Filipinos. This is how we help shape the enduring legacy of this administration," said Romualdez, whose speakership in the previous 19th Congress was defined by it high production rate.
He says that unity, discipline, and cross-party cooperation are essential as the House works to translate the President’s agenda into concrete legislation.

President Marcos will end his six-year term in Malacañang on June 30, 2028. The Romualdez-led Lakas-CMD has served as the administration’s muscle in the legislature theseast few years.
Lakas-CMD members say their strategy is to partner with other political parties in the House and secure at least 150 principal authors per bill to ensure swift deliberation and passage of the priority measures.
Romualdez also called on the media to give due attention to the House’s legislative work and policy outcomes. He stressed that informed public discourse on priority measures is vital to strengthening public trust in democratic institutions.
