P680K shabu seized in Makati buy-bust op; 2 suspects arrested

Two high-value individuals (HVIs) wanted for illegal drugs were nabbed in a buy-bust operation led by the Makati City Police in Barangay Singkamas, Makati City, on Tuesday, Feb. 10, which led to the seizure of P680,000 worth of shabu.

Police identified the suspects as 44-year-old "Russel" and 34-year-old "Jane," both residents of the said barangay.

Based on the police report, a police poseur buyer was able to purchase P100 worth of shabu from the suspects, prompting the rest of the operatives to immediately arrest the two.

"A subsequent search and inventory resulted in the seizure of additional shabu and other non-drug items. The total seized illegal drugs were estimated at 100 grams with a standard drug price of P680,000," the Makati City Police said.

Russel and Jane are now facing charges for violation of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
