Fire hits Muntinlupa village; 29 affected families get aid
A fire hit a residential area in Barangay Poblacion, Muntinlupa, affecting 29 families.
The Muntinlupa City Fire Station reported that the fire started at about 1:03 p.m. from a house in Magdaong Drive in the barangay and spread to other homes.
The first alarm was raised at 1:09 p.m. before the blaze was put out at 2:42 p.m. No one was hurt in the incident.
The Muntinlupa City government through its Social Services Department provided emergency relief kits to the 29 families or about 100 individuals.
The families received family kits (shirts, shorts, underwear, slippers and towels), kitchen kits (spoons, forks, frying pan, ladles, drinking glasses, bowls, pots, plates, stove and water container), and sleeping kits (mosquito nets, mats, pillows, blankets and folding beds).
They also received food relief (50 kilos of rice, assorted canned goods, sugar and coffee), and hygiene kits (nailcutters, power, towels, diapers, napkins, toothpastes, toothbrushes, bath soaps and shampoos).
Mayor Ruffy Biazon assured the families that financial assistance will be given to them.
A total of 21 fire trucks, five ambulances, and a rescue truck responded to the incident.
