Wanted Russian arrested in Cagayan

CAMP MARCELO A. ADDURU, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan — Police arrested a wanted Russian in Barangay Centro, Lal-lo, Cagayan, on Monday, Feb. 9.
Police identified the suspect as Andrew, 52, married, businessman, from Valencia, Negros Oriental.
Andrew was the sixth month wanted person on the regional level of the Police Regional Office-7 and faces eight counts of violating Republic Act No. 9262 or the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004.
His arrest warrant was issued by the Dumaguete City Regional Trial Court Branch 31. No bail was recommended.
Police Brig. Gen. Antonio P. Marallag Jr., Police Regional Office-2 chief, commended arresting units.
“The law applies to everyone, whether local or foreign. Anyone who violates it will be arrested, charged, and may be deported in accordance with existing laws and procedures,” Marallag said.
