Based on the police report, the suspect was seen entering the room of Mary Rose Bustamante and her family while they were sound asleep where he took various items including a cellphone worth P20,000, three bags, and two wallets before escaping.
According to Bustamante, they only found out about the robbery the following day when she checked their CCTV footage.
(I immediately saw his foot as soon as I turned on the CCTV. I was really scared. I was really traumatized because this wasn't the first time this had happened to me. I really have a phobia of thieves. It's a good thing we didn't wake up because I have a child; what if he didn't just steal?)," the victim said in a TV interview.
Bustamante immediately reported the incident to the police where they confirmed that the suspect is a resident of the barangay and was involved in other crimes such as theft and carnapping.
A manhunt was launched by the police for the suspect's arrest who is still in hiding.
