Operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) seized around P2.7 million worth of liquified petroleum products (LPG) for illegal trading in separate raids in Laguna and La Union.
CIDG director Maj. Gen. Robert Alexander Morico II said the operations in Cabuyao town in Laguna and Caba town in La Union on Feb. 6 also resulted in the arrest of four people who are now facing criminal charges for alleged illegal trading and refilling of LPG.
The first operation was conducted in Barangay San Fermin in Caba town and resulted in the confiscation of P550,000 worth of products and equipment.
On the same day, another operation was conducted in Barangay Gulod in Cabuyao where around P2.1 million of LPG products and equipment were seized.
Morico said gasoline stations were trading and distributing petroleum products without the necessary permits and clearances from the Department of Energy (DOE).
“These accomplishments on illegal trading of liquified petroleum products underscores the commitment of the CIDG in enforcing the law and holding all violators accountable,” said Morico.
He urged the public to report to CIDG all illegal trading of petroleum products, cigarette smuggling, and all illegal activities in their localities.
