Beware: This is not Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo's number

The office of Pampanga 2nd district Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has cautioned the public about a mobile phone number that is falsely and misleadingly being associated with the former president.
Worse, the number is reportedly being used in fraudulent activities.
"Please be advised that the cellphone number +63 947 844 5577 is NOT owned by, affiliated with, nor in any way connected to former President and Congresswoman Gloria Macapagal Arroyo," an advisory from Macapagal-Arroyo's office read on Tuesday, Feb. 10.
"It has further come to our attention that this number has been sending text messages to various public officials, misrepresenting its identity and creating false impressions of legitimacy," it stated.

"Any communication, solicitation, or representation made using this number is unauthorized and fraudulent," Macapagal-Arroyo's camp underscored.
"The public and concerned officials are strongly urged to remain vigilant and to refrain from engaging with, responding to, or transacting with messages or calls originating from this number," it added.
Macapagal-Arroyo served as chief executive from 2001 to 2010. She is also a former House Speaker.
