PDEA: P129 M worth of illegal drugs seized in week-long nationwide operations

A total of P129.13 million worth of illegal drugs were seized following the arrest of 113 suspects during the nationwide operations conducted from Jan. 30 to Feb, 6, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said on Monday, Feb. 9.
Of the 113 alleged drug personalities nabbed, PDEA said 45 are alleged pushers. 39 are allegedly drug den clients, 15 den owners or maintainers, four employees, eight possessors and two importers were arrested.
During the period, 93 anti-drug operations were done, comprising 54 buy-busts, 23 marijuana eradications, three search and seizure raids, serving of search warrant and and 12 interdiction operations.
“The week’s results highlight the government’s unwavering effort to dismantle drug syndicates, cut-off supply of illegal drugs and keep communities safe,’’ the PDEA said.
PDEA Director General Isagani Nerez also noted that the successful operations demonstrate strong inter-agency collaboration and the proven effectiveness of PDEA K-9 narcotics detection dogs and their handler, "Their outstanding performance underscores the strict and consistent implementation of interdiction protocols.
