Missing boy, 11, found dead, body buried on beach

BACOLOD CITY – An 11-year-old boy reported missing by his family on Sunday, Feb. 8, was found dead, buried on a beach in Barangay Tiling, Cauayan, Negros Occidental on Monday, Feb. 9.
Police Lt. Col. Norberto Barniso, Cauayan police chief, said the victim was found by a resident who passed by the area on Monday morning.
Barniso said the victim was not officially reported as missing because it was only less than 24 hours when his family sought the help of the public through social media about his disappearance.
Police said the victim would usually go to the sea to play with some friends or to gather scrap items.
Barniso said they have yet to determine if there was a foul play in his death.
The victim, a Grade 4 pupil, was in a sitting position when he has found.
He was subjected to an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
