Megaworld unveils Philippines' first WELL-registered residential property in Palawan
Megaworld Corp., the property development arm of billionaire Andrew Tan, is doubling down on its ecotourism footprint in Palawan with the launch of a residential project designed to meet international wellness standards.
In a statement on Monday, Feb. 9, Megaworld announced the introduction of Santé Residences Palawan, a 14-story condominium project expected to generate approximately ₱6.5 billion in sales.
The project, located within the 462-hectare Paragua Coastown in San Vicente, is being positioned as the country's first WELL-registered residential development. This designation follows the WELL Building Standard, a global framework that measures building performance across categories such as air quality, water purity, and mental health.
Javier Romeo Abustan, head of sales and marketing for Megaworld Palawan, described the development as a sanctuary that integrates nature with the science of living well, aiming to provide a home that nourishes both mind and body.
The mid-rise tower will consist of 460 units, ranging from 32.50-square-meter studios to three-bedroom bi-level residences spanning 179.50 square meters.
To maximize the scenic value of the San Vicente coastline, Megaworld has designed the building with angled balcony pods, ensuring that every unit has a view of either the Pagdanan Bay or the surrounding forest landscape. Each residence will also be equipped with a wireless smart home system, allowing owners to manage lighting and appliances through a mobile application.
Megaworld’s emphasis on wellness extends to the building’s specialized amenities. The property will feature a Halotherapy Center dedicated to respiratory health, a hydro-kinetics pool, and the Verve Studio fitness hub. Other communal spaces include a “Quiet Lounge,” a co-working area, and the Santé Botanique Garden, which is intended for the cultivation of sustainably grown produce.
Environmental sustainability remains a core component of the township’s strategy. The developer confirmed that the building will include rainwater harvesting systems, low-flow water fixtures, and occupancy sensors to reduce energy waste. Furthermore, the parking infrastructure will be designed to accommodate electric vehicle charging.
Santé Residences is slated for completion in 2031, joining Megaworld’s growing portfolio in the region which already includes the Paragua Beach Village and Oceanfront Premier Residences.
Beyond residential offerings, Megaworld is currently constructing the Savoy Hotel Palawan and the Paragua Sands Hotel, which will collectively add 617 room keys to the area. These investments are intended to capitalize on the rising profile of San Vicente, which is home to the 15-kilometer Long Beach, the longest white-sand beach in the country. (Gabriell Christel Galang)
