Man yields shabu, firearm, grenade in drug bust in Muntinlupa
A man is facing multiple charges, including selling illegal drugs, after he was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Muntinlupa on Feb. 8.
The Muntinlupa police identified the arrested suspect as alias Chong, 56, a resident of Barangay Tunasan, who is listed by authorities as a high-value individual.
Operatives from the Muntinlupa police's Station Drug Enforcement Unit conducted the operation at Diamond Hills in the barangay.
Seized from him six plastic sachets containing 51.85 grams of suspected shabu valued at P352,580, a .38-caliber revolver with four pieces of live ammunition, an MK2 fragmentation hand grenade, and the marked P1,000 bill used as buy-bust money.
He will face a compaint for violations of Sections 5 (sale of dangerous drugs) and 11 (possession of dangerous drugs) of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002); Republic Act 10591 for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition), and Republic Act 9516 for illegal possession of explosives.
The suspect is under the custody of the Muntinlupa police.
Brig. Gen. Randy Arceo, district director of the Southern Police District, said, The arrest of a high-value individual who was not only engaged in illegal drugs but also in possession of firearms and explosives is a major blow to criminal elements operating in our communities."
