9 hurt in firecracker blast during procession

CANDELARIA, Quezon – Nine individuals, including five minors, were injured in a firecracker explosion during the Birhen ng Caysasay procession in Barangay Masin Norte here on Sunday afternoon, Feb. 8.
Police identified four victims as Ryan, 28; Gregorio, 50; Mylene, 49; and Maricel,38.
The five minors were members of the Barangay Malabanban Norte Elementary School Lyre Band.
They were hit by debris and sustained minor injuries. They were taken to a hospital here and their treatment was shouldered by organizers.
