Taytay LGU holds free medical mission during HaMaKa Festival
The local government of Taytay, Rizal, conducted a free medical mission on Saturday, Feb. 7, for its residents as part of the ongoing HaMaKa (Hamba, Makina, Kasuotan) Festival activities.
Residents lined up at Kalayaan Park from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. to avail themselves of various medical services.
The mission offered a range of health services, including medical check-ups, ECG, Rolling Botika, and laboratory tests such as RBS and PSA (screening for prostate cancer). Family planning services, including implant insertion and removal, were also made available, along with pharmacy assistance for residents with a valid ID and updated prescription.
Dental check-ups were provided for residents aged 12 and above, while flu vaccines were given to senior citizens on a first-come, first-served basis to those presenting an OSCA ID. Residents also had the opportunity to undergo free and confidential HIV counselling and testing.
Aside from the medical mission, Taytay Mayor Allan De Leon also released the calendar of events for the festival, which began on Jan. 31 with a Thanksgiving Day celebration. The festival will run until Feb. 22, featuring highlights such as the 81st Liberation Day and the Battle of the Bands.
