QC cops seize firearms, ammo linked to killing of police officer

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) recovered several firearms, ammunition, and a pair of license plates believed to be linked to the killing of Police Senior Master Sergeant Diane Mollenido during an operation in Barangay Kaligayahan, Novaliches, on Friday, Feb. 6.
Police seized items included a .45 caliber pistol, three magazines, a pocket gun, and 55 rounds of .45 caliber ammunition.
Authorities also recovered a pair of license plates, which will undergo verification with the Land Transportation Office (LTO).
Investigators proceeded to the residence of the mother of dismissed police officer Christian Panganiban after information was provided by his brother regarding the location of the firearms and other items allegedly used in the fatal shooting.
Police said the recovered pieces of evidence will be turned over to the QCPD Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (CIDU) for forensic examination and will form part of the ongoing case build-up against the suspects.
