CAMP MIGUEL MALVAR, Batangas City – Police arrested six individuals for allegedly pilfering oil in Barangay Puting Bato West, Calaca City, Batangas on Friday, Feb. 6.
Calaca City police caught a driver and five helpers in the act of moving diesel and gasoline from an oil tanker truck into several containers using a metal container and an improvised funnel.
Police asked for proper documents but the suspects failed to present any authority, permit, or supporting documents authorizing the transfer.
The suspects were apprehended and recovered from them were a Fuso truck head with license plates RHZ-941; a truck trailer; a Toyota Light Ace; a metal container; an improvised funnel; 12 containers containing diesel, and 35 containers containing gasoline.
They are detained at the Calaca City police station and face charges for violating Presidential Decree 1865 (Oil Pilferage Law).
“This operation highlights the vigilance and dedication of our police personnel in preventing illegal activities that pose risks to public safety and economic stability. The Batangas PPO remains steadfast in its commitment to intensify anti-criminality operations and ensure that those who violate the law are held accountable,” said Police Col. Marlon Rufo, Batangas police director.
