The city government of Pasay officially launched the “Kalinisan sa Lungsod Pasay para sa Bagong Pilipinas” on Feb. 5 to further strengthen the campaign for cleanliness, proper waste segregation, and active community participation in environmental protection.
Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano emphasized that cleanliness is a shared responsibility and not solely the duty of the government.
“This serves as a reminder that cleanliness is not just the work of the government. Rather, it calls for collaboration, communication, coordination, and commitment. It is a shared responsibility of everyone. When our surroundings are clean, our health improves, our communities are safer, and our daily lives become more pleasant,” the mayor said during the launching ceremony held at the Cuneta Astrodome.
The event was attended by Vice Mayor Mark Calixto, members of the City Council, representatives from the city’s 201 barangays, and various sectors of Pasay, who showed their support for the initiative.
The “Kalinisan sa Lungsod Pasay para sa Bagong Pilipinas” program reflects the city’s commitment to promoting environmental responsibility and building a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable Pasay for future generations, according to the mayor.
