Pasay City records P2.5B in business permit renewal collections
The Pasay City government collected P2.5 billion from business permit renewals in January 2026, marking a 13.7 percent increase, or about P301 million more, compared to its 2025 collections.
City Treasurer Bernabe R. Punsalan said the increase underscores the effectiveness of the city’s revenue collection system and reflects the continued confidence of the business sector in the local government.
“These figures demonstrate that our tax collection system is functioning efficiently, our personnel are dedicated, and the business community continues to trust the city government,” Punsalan said.
He added that every peso collected is channeled back to the public through essential services for Pasayeños, including healthcare, education, infrastructure development, social welfare programs, and disaster preparedness. These initiatives are aligned with the H.E.L.P. Priority Agenda of Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano.
Rubiano acknowledged the city’s improving financial position, attributing it to sustained efforts to enhance tax collection, which help strengthen people-centered programs and services.
“This is the wisdom of collaboration, coordination, communication, and commitment among our stakeholders and city personnel. Let us continue working together to achieve our goal of promoting Tapat at Higit sa Sapat na Paglilingkod. This is the fruit of our collective labor, and our success is sweeter when we move forward as one,” the mayor said.
