Newest Bar passer is now Rizal Police chief

The Rizal Police Provincial Office (PPO) based in Taytay, Rizal, now has a new director.
Col. Eleazar Ruga Barber, Jr., former head of the Regional Police Security and Protection Unit 2 (RPSPU2) in Cagayan Valley, has assumed as the new director of the Rizal PPO effective Feb. 4 .
Barber, Jr., who was among the 2025 Bar exams passer, replaced Col. Feloteo A. Gonzalgo as the PPO director in Rizal that covers thirteen municipalities and one component city.
Region 4-A director, BGen. Paul Kenneth Lucas administered the turn-over of command ceremony held at the Rizal PPO headquarters in Taytay, Rizal, with the attendance of Rizal Gov. Nina Ricci Ynares.
Barber formerly headed the Police Security and Protection Group’s (PSPG) Vital Installations Security Division where he oversaw security for the House of Representatives and other vital government facilities and the PSPG’s Very Important Person Protection Division, prior to his assignment as head of RPSPU2 in Cagayan.
During the turn-over ceremony, Gov. Ynares welcomed the new provincial director and expressed her optimism that Barber would do his best to keep the province a safe place.

She also thanked Gonzalgo as she wished him luck in his career movement in the police service.
At least five most wanted suspects, including three suspects listed in Region 4-A 's most wanted persons, were arrested at the start of Barber's assumption to office at Rizal PPO.
