K-pop group RIIZE's Japanese member not performing in Macau due to 'unforeseeable circumstances'
The Japanese member of K-pop boy band RIIZE will not be participating in the group’s concert in Macau.
On Feb. 6, promoter IME Macau announced that because of “unforeseeable circumstances,” member Shotaro will be absent from RIIZE’s “Riizing Loud” in Macao concert that will be held on Feb. 7 and 8 at the Galaxy Arena.
“Although all parties had prepared in a timely manner to have all members attend, unfortunately, due to unforeseeable circumstances, member Shotaro will not be able to participate in the 2026 RIIZE Concert Tour [Riizing Loud] in Macau, scheduled for February 7th and 8th, 2026,” IME Macau said.
It added, “We ask for the understanding of the fans who have waited for and supported RIIZE for a long time. We sincerely apologize once again for any inconvenience caused by the change in the lineup for this performance.”
Fans were furious with the announcement. Here are some of the replies to the announcement: .
- “Why not notify us earlier? Why announce it only after lots of fans got to the hotel? Who's covering our flights and accommodation?”
- “Thank you for the announcement. This sudden announcement was of course a huge shock for us, but maybe this is the best for Shotaro too as we all also know about the current situation.”
“Are you serious??Why can't you say it earlier???”
