CORONICA
BACOLOD CITY – Mayor Greg Gasataya is selecting the replacement of Police Col. Joeresty Coronica as Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) chief.
“We are finalizing everything, and we will announce it in due time,” Gasataya said after Coronica’s exit call Thursday.
Gasataya added that he has received the names of five candidates from where he will select Coronica’s successor.
Coronica said he is awaiting his reassignment order from the Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR).
He said that Gasataya has 15 days to choose and if no decision is made, the Philippine National Police (PNP) headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City will designate an officer-in-charge.
Coronica served as BCPO director for one year and six months.
A native of Barangay Mansilingan here, Coronica was assigned to the BCPO in July 2024 and served as police chief in Negros Occidental and Iloilo City Police Office.
