ENHYPEN's Sunghoon carries torch at Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics
Sunghoon, a member of K-pop boy band ENHYPEN, participated in the Olympic Torch Relay for the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy.
He trained as a competitive figure skater and became part of South Korea’s national reserve team. He is also the promotional ambassador for the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee, helping connect sports with the wider public.
Sunghoon participated in the 60th Olympic torch relay in Milan on Feb. 5. The area near Bolivar station was packed with fans as he led the torch relay.
Before his appearance, fans were on the streets, draped in Korean flags and holding placards that read “Sunghoon, fighting!”.
"I'm thrilled to be able to step onto the Olympic stage as a singer, a stage I dreamed of as an athlete. I was delighted to be able to participate in this glorious journey of the Olympics. I received tremendous energy thanks to Engene [fans) and sports fans,” he said.
Before the torch relay, he said in a video, “Today, I have the honor of participating as a torchbearer for the Milano Cortina 2026. I'm truly grateful and excited and I will run with heartfelt support for all the athletes. Before becoming a K-pop idol, I competed as an athlete for about ten years. And back then my dream was the Olympics. Although I'm here today as an idol, my desire to share encouragement and love with many people remains the same.”
During the relay, he conveyed the Olympic spirit and solidarity embodied in the torch amidst the enthusiastic cheers of the citizens. He greeted fans with bright smiles and waved, successfully passing the flame to the next runner.
In addition to Sunghoon, the torchbearers for the 60th stage were three-time Olympic champion Shaun White, Paralympic swimming champion Simone Barlaam, Tony Estanguet, Carlo Cracco, Enzo Masiello, Christian Chivu, and Luciano Buonfiglio.
ENHYPEN also contributed to the Winter Olympics through their song “Shout Out,” which has been selected as Team Korea’s official cheer song for the Milano Cortina 2026.
Sunghoon was invited to be a torchbearer by Samsung Electronics, an official worldwide Olympic and Paralympic partner.
