Police arrested the No. 1 most wanted person in Batangas province in Barangay Luntal, Tuy, Batangas, on Thursday afternoon, Feb. 5.
The Nasugbu, Batangas Municipal Police Station identified the suspect as Pipoy, single.
The 35-year-old was arrested on a warrant for robbery with homicide, dated June 25, 2013, with no bail recommended.
He is under the custody of the Nasugbu police.
Pipy is awaiting the return of the warrant of arrest to the court of origin for proper disposition.
“The successful arrest reaffirms the Batangas police’s dedication to ensuring that offenders are brought to justice. We assure the public of our steadfast commitment to peace, order, and the rule of law,” said Police Col. Marlon Rufo, Batangas police director.
Meanwhile, a sugarcane worker or “sacada” was hacked to death by his co-worker after a playful discussion turned into a heated argument while they were harvesting sugarcane in Barangay Tactac, Balayan, Batangas on Tuesday morning, Feb. 3.
Police identified the victim as Richard.
The victim sustained multiple hack wounds inflicted by the suspect Dante and was taken a hospital where he was declared dead.
The suspect fled and the subject of a manhunt.
The body of a suspected “salvage” or summary execution victim was found on a creek in Barangay San Fernando, Santo Tomas City, Batangas, on Tuesday afternoon.
The victim had a visible bloodstain on the back of the head.
He was wearing a white T-shirt and green shorts and discovered lying on a prone position.
The body was taken to a funeral parlor in the city.
