Two men were injured and a dog died in a fire in Ayala Alabang Village, Muntinlupa City.
The Muntinlupa City Fire Station reported that the fire started in a home on Mango Drive and damaged about P1 million worth of properties.
According to the family driver, he went outside the house to get a better cell phone signal. When he was about to come back, he saw a bright light coming in the house.
He rushed back to the house and looked where it came from. He saw fire and thick smoke in the kitchen. He went out of the house and asked the help of security guard Allan Molina. A fire truck also arrived.
Responding officer Alvin Atieriza suffered an abrasion on the right side of his face while Molina suffered a laceration on the head. He was taken to a clinic for treatment. A pet dog perished in the fire.
A total of seven fire trucks, an ambulance and a Bureau of Fire Protection rescue vehicle responded to the incident.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
