The search continues: Meet the 23 candidates for Mr. & Ms. Chinatown Global Year Two

Following a successful first year, the search for the next Mr. and Ms. Chinatown Global resumes, welcoming a fresh batch of young, hopeful candidates of mixed Chinese heritage ready to vie for the crown.
During the press presentation held at the Manila Hotel, 13 women and 10 men representing Chinatown communities in 15 countries strutted on stage.
Welcoming a new year of celebrating Chinese heritage, MMCG Pageant Director, 2016 Binibining Pilipinas-Grand International titleholder, and Miss Grand International first runner-up, Nicole Cordoves, gave an inspiring speech during the event.
"At its core, Mr. and Ms. Chinatown Global is a platform where candidates proudly celebrate their heritage and its place in the modern world, united by culture and shaped by diverse global experiences. We show that Chinese identity continues to evolve across borders and generations," Nicole said in her speech.

At the end of her speech, Nicole shared that she envisions the competition to "build bridges across Chinatowns across the globe."

The highlight of the presentation was the announcement of special awards. Filipino delegates Aldrich Chen Perez and Monica Geronimo were hailed as Social Media Stars.

Meanwhile, Mr. Chinatown Global Switzerland Olivier Liu Xu and Ms. Chinatown Global Thailand Khaohom Seearamroongruang were named "Darlings of the Press."
Ms. Chinatown Global Canada, Tyra Rosnuk, and Mr. Chinatown Global Switzerland, Olivier Liu Xu, received the Mr. and Ms. The Manila Hotel’s Choice Award.
The final set of special awards, Mr. and Ms. The Color Bar’s Choice, was presented to Mr. Chinatown Global Switzerland, Olivier Liu Xu, and Ms. Chinatown Global USA, Rochelle Kirsten Canlas.
The second edition of Mr. and Ms. Chinatown Global will stage its Winners Night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Araneta City on Feb.10.
