A barangay tanod or watchman was allegedly hacked to death by a laborer over his offensive jokes during a drinking spree with friends in Barangay San Antonio, Cauayan City, Isabela on Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 3.
Police identified the victim as Marvin, 45.
Police Lt. Col. Avelino Canseran Jr., chief of the Cauayan City Police Station, said the victim was hacked seven times in the head and nape by the suspect Felino, 44, with a bolo.
The victim was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead.
Felino fled and the subject of a manhunt. Police are conducting follow-up investigation.
