Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III on Wednesday, February 4 said he will ask Sen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa to consider not getting his salary as a senator until he reports for work.
Since he has not yet been visible in the Senate, Sotto said he will suggest this to the senator who is facing a possible arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court (ICC).
He has no communication with us, so I am suggesting to him and I wish he consider, that in order to relieve the pressure from his office, not to accept any salary until he comes in),” Sotto said in an interview on Radio DZBB.
Sotto, however, admitted that Dela Rosa’s office continue to function and has been filing bills, resolutions and even giving recommendations to other pending measures.
At this point, Sotto said he would not be surprised if someone files an ethics complaint against Dela Rosa.
Dela Rosa (I won’t be surprised if a Committee on Ethics. There are many filing ethics complaint against our colleagues, but I expect somebody to file a complaint before the Committee on Ethics against Dela Rosa),” he said.
