Why would there be a leadership shake-up in the House of Representatives if everybody is happy?
House Majority Leader Ilocos Norte 1st district Rep. Sandro Marcos denied any knowledge of a brewing "coup d'etat" in the 300-plus strong legislative chamber during a chance interview Wednesday, Feb. 4.
"I don't know of any coup in Congress at any point in time. As far as I'm concerned, everyone is confident and happy with the leadership of Speaker Bodjie," Rep. Marcos said, referring to Speaker Faustino "Bojie" Dy III.
The presidential son only had glowing words for Dy, who took over the reins in Batasan complex in September 2025.
"He has been steering the House through his own quiet brand of leadership, which is what I think the House needs now, and instituting the reforms that the House requires to show to the Filipino people," Rep. Marcos said.
Rep. Marcos and Dy are party-mates over at Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP). President Marcos chairs PFP.
