BAROBO, Surigao del Sur – Police Regional Office-13 Director Police Brig. Gen. Marcial Mariano P. Magistrado IV on Wednesday, Jan. 4, formed a Special Investigation Task Group to probe the ambush of Mayor Ronito L. Martizano here on Tuesday, Jan. 3.

Magistrado visited the ambush site and Martizano in a hospital in Barobo and directed Surigao del Sur Police Provincial Office (PPO) Director Police Col. Jeffrey Lawrence D. Mauricio, task group commander, to “lead a focused, thorough and expeditious investigation” of the incident.

The PRO-13 chief urged people with relevant information on the attack to coordinate with the police.

“PRO-13 strongly condemns this senseless act of violence and we assure the public that all necessary resources are being mobilized and we will leave no stone unturned until those responsible are brought before the bar of justice,” Magistrado said.

Magistrado assured Martizano that they are fully committed to resolving the case.
