Nic Chien, son of Lea Salonga, talks about his dad's new love

After Lea Salonga confirmed her separation from Robert Chien, their son, Nic, spoke candidly about their relationship.

In an interview for the magazine show "Rated Korina" with Korina Sanchez, Nic shared that his parents maintain a civil relationship and that his father is now in a new relationship.

"They can both pursue a relationship, and it's totally fine with me. My dad is with another woman. A very lovely woman, she is my stepmother and I love her very much, but that doesn't mean I'm betraying my mom, I love my mom more, of course, because she is my biological mom," Nic said.

Nic also clarified that his father, Robert, did not cheat on Lea when they parted ways.

"My parents are on very good terms. My dad never cheated on my mom, that's number one, and my parents are still friends, that's number two, and they love each other, but they don't love each other romantically; they care about each other very much, and they both love me very much," Nic added.

Despite his parents' separation, Nic received unwavering support and love from both when he came out as bisexual.

"I'm bisexual, I'm okay with saying that out loud. I figured that out in grade 5, and my parents at the time. I don't blame them for this. They were like, "Are you sure? You're very young, you could change your mind, don't label yourself right away", that's what they told me, and I'm very fortunate to have supportive parents," Nic said.
