Indigent bedridden patients in Pasig to receive P6,000 yearly financial aid
To make life easier for families with bedridden relatives and ensure reliable delivery of support, the Pasig City government has launched a pilot rollout of a new program providing financial assistance to indigent bedridden residents through house-to-house distribution or via ATM.

On Tuesday, Feb. 3, Mayor Vico Sotto observed the ongoing implementation of the program’s pilot rollout through house-to-house distribution.
The local government said under the program, indigent bedridden Pasigueños will receive P6,000 in financial assistance annually, or P500 every month.
“Hindi man sobrang laki ang tulong na ito (nasa P6,000 per year), ang kagandahan nito ay hindi na pipila o magbabaka-sakali ang mga kamag-anak nila, kundi REGULAR at ihahatid nang BAHAY-BAHAY (o ATM) ang financial assistance (Although this is not very large (P6,000 per year), its advantage is that families no longer have to line up or hope for a chance to receive it, as the financial assistance will be delivered regularly through house-to-house distribution or via ATM),” the mayor said.
Currently, the assistance is being distributed through house-to-house visits to ensure that it is directly delivered to the beneficiaries. However, the city government said that it plans to shift the distribution to an ATM-based system to make the process more convenient.
The Pasig City Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) said the initiative is made possible through Pasig City Ordinance No. 74, Series of 2024, also known as the Persons with Disability (PWD) Welfare Code.
The ordinance was authored by Councilor Maria Luisa “Angelu” M. De Leon and Councilor Marion Rosalio M. Martires, and co-authored by Councilors Corazon M. Raymundo, Raymund Francis S. Rustia, Mark Gil “Volta” M. Delos Santos, Simon Gerard R. Tantoco, Paul Roman C. Santiago, Roderick Mario U. Gonzales, Noel L. Agustin, Regino “Regie” S. Balderrama, and Syvel Asilo-Gupilan, as well as Liga ng mga Barangay President Jeronimo R. Alba and SK Federation President Keil P. Custillas.
Meanwhile, PDAO said the program is open to indigent bedridden PWDs residing in Pasig City. Those who wish to apply must submit the following requirements: a photocopy of their PWD ID (with an updated contact number written on it) and proof of life, which is a recent photo of the bedridden PWD with a calendar or newspaper showing the current date.
Family members of indigent bedridden PWDs must submit the required documents to their respective Barangay PWD Office/Help Desk or visit the Pasig City PDAO office at Tanghalang Pasigueño or the Temporary Pasig City Hall Office.
Once the documents are submitted, the PDAO team will schedule a home visit for validation. Approved beneficiaries will then be enrolled in the program.
“Let’s continue building an inclusive, compassionate, and supportive Pasig together!” It said.
