The office of former president and incumbent Pampanga 2nd district Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo warned netizens on Wednesday, Feb. 4 about a supposed fake and misleading news story about her family.
"The public is hereby warned against a misleading article currently circulating online through the website celeb.phshowbiz.com and being posted on Facebook pages, including Mr. Ramon Tulfo and Daily Vibe, titled 'Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo asks for prayers as family faces health struggles,'" an advisory sent to House reporters read.
"This article is NOT from a legitimate or verified news organization and is misleading in its presentation, as it makes the content appear recent or newly released," it stated.
The ex-president's camp clarified that the statement requesting prayers for her family was officially issued back in April 2025.

"The recirculation of this article outside its proper context may cause confusion and misinformation," it added.
"The public is strongly encouraged to rely only on official statements and reports from credible news organizations and verified social media accounts. Please avoid sharing or engaging with suspicious or unverified links," the advisory further read.
Macapagal-Arroyo served as chief executive from 2001 to 2010. She is also a former House Speaker.
Her husband, former First Gentleman Jose Miguel Arroyo, and son, former Pampanga congressman Mikey Arroyo both underwent medical procedures in 2025.
