Duterte camp ready to explain 'Mary Grace Piattos'

The camp of Vice President Sara Duterte is ready to explain controversies surrounding the impeachment complaint filed against her, including the mysterious Mary Grace Piattos.

Lawyer Michael Poa, one of the counsels of the Vice President, made the pronouncement Wednesday, Feb. 4, as House members endorsed two new impeachment complaints against her.

"We are prepared to address all allegations, including confidential fund issues. Kasama na dyan yung paratang (That includes allegations) on names such as Mary Grace Piattos," Poa said.

The identity of Mary Grace Piattos, who allegedly received controversial funds from Duterte's office, remains a mystery after the Senate archived in August 2025 the first impeachment case against Duterte.

The name Mary Grace Piattos was flagged by lawmakers during the build up of the complaint against Duterte as it did not exist, according to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA). It has no birth, marriage or death certificates.
