TACLOBAN CITY – Police gunned down an amok on Tuesday in Barangay Santa Cruz, Palo, Leyte.
A concerned citizen reported to the police that a drunken man armed with a bolo was challenging passersby to a fight.
Lawmen attempted to pacify the suspect but he charged towards them. Police fired a warning shot and the suspect continued to advance, prompting lawmen to shoot him.
The suspect sustained bullet wounds and was declared dead on arrival in a hospital in Palo.
The Leyte Police Provincial Office (LPPO) is investigating the incident.
